A?? little?? bio........

Hey there...this is me...I'm 30 years old, 5'8", 158lbs with fiery red hair ( sometimes has been blonde). I grew up in Fort Fairfield Maine, and I live in New York City. I've completed four years of my flute performance degree, and hope to play woodwinds in theatrical orchestras in NYC. In the summer I am Asst. Director of Music for French Woods Festival in the Catskills. http://www.frenchwoods.com . Check out the rest of my page and drop me a note!

Here are some Youtube clips. The ones with webcam were a few months ago practicing in my apartment and there is one from French Woods Festival where I am teaching flute and voice, and performing in the pit of "Man of La Mancha" . The pit is mixed campers and staff and is conducted by Brian Worsdale.

I'm always looking for students and other musicians to perform with. Below are a couple of audio clips of my playing and singing. Some from shows, some as far back as high school.

I do some drawing as well, you'll find my favorite drawing below. If you're interested in learning the flute, playing some duets, singing some stuff or anything at all, my e-mail is at the bottom.

These photos are from Windham Center Stage Theatre's November 2005 production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", in which I played the role of Joseph. It was a very special role for me and working with WCST and the wonderful people there was an experience I will never forget and hope to have again with those same folks.

Here are a few more clips from Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I'll add more when I have time....

Joseph tells his dreams to the brothers, who are less than impressed with what they hear...
Joseph's brothers, after selling him into slavery and assuming him dead, head to Egypt to beg for food, not recognizing that the Governor of Egypt is their brother Joseph, who decides to play with them a bit...
Joseph frames his youngest brother Benjamin by planting a golden cup in his sack of food, as part of his trick played on the brothers...

This is Jack. He's my little man. A Jack Russell Terrier, he stands 9" tall and weighs approximately 12lbs. He's mellow, contrary to usual Jack Russell Terrier behavior. There is also a picture of him with his girl, Joy who he sees on occasion for overnight visits.

A little bio........

My current biography:

Jason, a native of Fort Fairfield, Maine, has been performing in the Portland area since 1995 before relocating to New York City in June of 2006. As a Flute Performance major at the University of Southern Maine, Jason studied under the instruction of Jean Rosenblum, and Cathy Payne (Piccoloist, San Francisco Symphony). In his studies at USM, Jason performed as Principal Flutist of both the USM Concert Band and Wind Ensemble, and as Piccoloist of the Southern Maine Symphony. Jason's flute/woodwind playing has also reached both professional and community theater as well, with performances at Maine State Music Theatre, Ogunquit Playhouse, Portland Players, Biddeford City Theatre, Sanford Mainstage, Lyric Music Theatre, and The Schoolhouse Arts Center. In New Hampshire, Jason has performed at Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth for several shows, Actorsingers in Nashua, and the Weathervane Theatre in Whitefield.

As a vocalist, Jason has sung throughout Europe with the USM Chamber Singers and also performed as a soloist in many USM Chorale performances. A student of Ellen Chickering, he has appeared in several Opera Workshop performances at USM with roles including the title role in Mozart's "Don Giovanni", Papageno in Mozart's "The Magic Flute", and Guglielmo in Mozart's "Cosi Fan Tutte". Jason was overjoyed to appear as a featured soloist in a Gospel Music Celebration with Cindy Gerlach at State Street Church in October of 2000. Jason appeared in his first theatrical role as Dickon in The Schoolhouse Arts Center's 1997 production of 'The Secret Garden', and was Claude in "HAIR" in Acton, Maine in 2003. In 2003-2004, Jason sang with the Choral Arts Society of Portland Maine in their Masterworks series with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Choral Arts Society Singers, and also their most select group, the Choral Arts Camarata. Jason appeared as Joseph in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", at Windham Center Stage in November of 2005, and is thrilled to have been chosen to perform in this year's "Best of Broadway" Concert to benefit Maine Medical Center's Barbara Bush Children?s Hospital on May 13th 2006 at Merrill Auditorium.

Now living in New York City, Jason plays flute with the Big Apple Corps concert band, and holds a position as Assistant Director of Music with French Woods Festival, one of the largest comprehensive summer performing arts camps in the United States, as well as performing in pit orchestras for local theatres and working on recordings.
